Have you ever crept out early on a lovely April day,
and left the dishes on the table and the beds in disarray...
And walked a way bare footed while the dew was still on the grass.
Have you seen lilies nodding as they gossiped with thier friends
or caught the blackbird's colors spread out where the river bends?
Did you hear the robin's call as he greets the coming day
and the pine trees whispering or feel the sun's warm rays?
The morning mist is lifting,
and Spring in all her splendar makes ready for the day.
Oh, I have chores beyond the door a dozen more or less,
but I will pause another moment here among all this loveliness.
